Friend of NMASBO Award

Purpose

The Board of Directors of the New Mexico Association of School Business Officials recognizes there are individuals who, by their words and deeds, have provided special and noteworthy support as we pursue the fulfillment our mission.

NMASBO's Mission Statement

To lead the New Mexico school business profession by providing quality professional development opportunities and a network of support.

Qualifications

Any member, vendor affiliate or non-member may be nominated.

Criteria for Selection

Individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria are considered eligible for this award:
  • Have made a significant contribution—whether by means of pro-active involvement in the legislative process, or the creation of a model program/procedure, or the establishment of an exemplary standard or practice, etc.—in facilitating the process by which school business officials contribute to the education of students in their school districts;
  • Have consistently, and on a long term basis, provided significant assistance to NMASBO in the implementation of its various functions and responsibilities;
  • Have provided assistance to NMASBO, which is considered “above and beyond” expectations.

Selection Process

Nominations are sought to assist the Board of Directors in identifying individuals who are deserving of special recognition for their efforts in behalf of NMASBO. Nominees may be submitted by anyone who is in the position to document and support the accomplishments of the person being nominated. There is no annual limit on the number of award recipients. The number of awards is entirely dependent upon the quality and number of nominees in a given year. A member of the Board of Directors will Chair a five-member committee and work with the Executive Director in making selections. The deadline for nominations is January 1st annually. The recipient of this award will be recognized annually at the NMASBO Winter Conference!
